lounge restaurant bungalow

(8 mins boat ride from Gizo, the Provincial Capital of the Western Solomon Islands)

Enjoy an ice cold bevy, a plate of fresh crayfish pan fried in lime juice and butter, a game of pool, or simply kick back and be mesmerized by the myriad of tropical fish swimming underneath you. Our well stocked bar includes a modest wine list and our locally grown produce, including catches of fresh seafood everyday enable us to create mouth-watering dishes for you. We are open for lunch everyday and take bookings for dinner.

Your hosts, Turia Griffiths and Grant Griffiths, an expatriate Australian, naturalized Solomon Islander, have an intimate knowledge of the Western Province and can organise tours, fishing trips, diving, snorkelling and other activities for you. They actively promote economic and social development for the people of the region by supporting local business.

History / Culture
Ghizo contains much of the Western Province's World War II history with many well preserved American and Japanese war relics still visible on the land and in its waters. Some of the main shops in the township of Gizo are even war relics, being operated out of abandoned American aircraft hangers.

Gizo offers a rich, friendly culture and educational visits to numerous sacred areas can be arranged. To this day, local islanders are famous for producing exquisite, traditionally themed carvings from wood and stone.
