| The Surf and Trip |
Day 1:
Arrive Lembongan at the crack of dawn to sample the breaks of Ship Wrecks a cruisy right hander with a barrel section, Lacerations- if there’s a good swell running you can expect a barrel from takeoff, Playgrounds a cruisy left & right, Cennigan point, another left hander generally uncrowded and good on a medium swell & mid-low tide. Overnight steam to the South Western corner of Lombok. |
Day 2:
Wake up at the fabled Desert point, a mechanical left hander & on its day when the tide – swell direction & winds are right can be rated as one of the best waves in the world. Surf when it's on and move on when it’s not. Weather permitting (generaly wet season) head round the southern side of Lombok to sample the un-crowded breaks as well as the well know breaks such as Mauwi, Air Guling, Kuta, Grupuk (etc etc). Weather not permitting we head up to Gilli Trawangan which offers great snorkelling with Turtles, great night-life and a cheeky little right-hand reef break. |
Day 3:
Wake up with the sunrise in Sumbawa at Yo-Yos a right handed point break with a right hander break in the bay, which can be fickle but a good spot to check if the swell is low. Surf the epic right till the wind comes in and then head round the west side of the island for some sheltered Super Sucks, a gnarly left hander which is known to be one of the heaviest lips in Indo. Super barrels can be expected here with a super shallow inside section, then hit Scar Reef, another epic left hander for the rest of the day. |
Day 4 and 5:
Similar setup to day 3. Start at Yo-Yos then explore the other breaks in the region. These days are defined by you and which waves you like the best. It’s your trip. |
Day 6:
Start to head back with the same weather restrictions it may be a day time cruise along the south or a night time steam round the top of Lombok, either way, you will get a second shot at Desert point. Later that night we steam back to Lembongan. |
Day 7:
Morning and breakfast at the 3 Lembongan breaks for your wind down session and then drop off at Serangan harbour at 1pm |
